I applaud Anet for being the first game developer since Blizzard(diablo2) to give me a game that has actually deserved the money I spent on it! Guild Wars is the first game in years that actually managed to hold my interest for more than a week. a friend introduced me to the game, said I could try it while he was at work... next day, i went out and bought three copies, 1 for me and 2 more for friends. I have not regretted that decision to this day.
The first 6 months of play were a rollercoaster-ride of fun: doin' pve, holding halls, getting on the first page of the ladder (rank 12)

I sorta stopped playing for a while, lost interest I guess...
then came Factions, got the CE ( on time, mind you )
worth the money
Played for a bit, lost interest again...
then comes Nightfall, got the CE again
worth the money

Guess what?! come chapter 4, I'll order the CE again, whether I'm playing or not! why? because the good people at Anet deserve my money, they've earned it back in june 2005 when I got prophecies

I gotta admit, I spend a lot of time playing GW and I am very grateful for the great experiences I have had during this. However I would also like to thank much of the GW and GWGuru community in helping to make the GW experience as best as possible. After all, a good online game doesn't go far without good people to play it with. I'm glad that despite the game's flaws and the rotten tomatoes of people out there, playing GW is still a very enjoyable point in my day. Thank you.

Oh I just cannot let this thread go without my participation!

YES! Fantastic posts by many, i'm inspired all over again. (not that I lost any hope or faith.. i've been in love with GW since day one.) Friend of mine got me into GW and I just loved the art direction and the unique idea of a level 20 skill cap, the music, just all of the features made me drool. So many things rocked me inside out. 14+ months now of sweet Guild Wars love now!
Nightfall brought alot more to the table than I really imagined, it's been a great adventure. I still really appreciate alot of qualities in Factions that I fear many don't see or feel the same about. And I'll always return to Tyria because it's where the tales began, where my most accomplished and longest played/favorite characters come from.

I know i've gotten at least four more people into GW, so it's a great feeling spreading the love. And i'll continue to do so when and where I can! The support team has never disappointed me, I don't feel like my time and journey has been mistreated, many fixes have been accomplished in a timely and efficient manner. All around it's just a great energy by community and crew alike. Plus Anet is like 12 minutes from where I live, so the hometown support is definetly there, woohoo!

I'll toast to a promising future and more features and fun for all of us to enjoy and participate in.
Thanks Anet, thanks Gaile, and thanks to the GW community.

I've been into this game since I saw the first CGI cinematic promotoing prophecies back in july or August of 05. I like the gameplay and the stories, while being a bit fantasy cliched, have held my interest and kept me doing quests. And then there's the humor thrown in that I love, from some of the goofy dances to quest like 'More Cowbell' and 'Drakes on a Plain'. Guild Wars is one of the few games I won't be taking off my PC any time soon. Great job Anet.

Or maybe an auction house.....
But seriously...Thanks Arenanet. I never used to be such a gamer, but this game is awesome. I used to think it was quite good, but then I got into the REAL guild wars: PvP. Now I know it's awesome.

I love this game. Good job on everything you've ever done. Except ritualists.

I think this is the first time I've been on since NF release, and I have to say that I'm happy for 2 things that I have always wanted since the start:

1) Attribute Refund Points gone

2) Able to change secondary profession without mapping

Now that I have them, I've got nothing to complain about, sure there's always room for improvement, but with the skill hunter title it's ridiculous to have to map everywhere to change secondary. At least that's over with.

I just wanted to thank Anet for the excellent game and the direction that they're going in with each new update. I know that I'm going to be unpopular saying this but I'm glad that they're getting rid of the stupidly high priced items with the inscription system and the addition of heroes.

You might make a few people unhappy and even angry about how bored they are but the game really is improving all the time. So I say let them be angry and yell, but know that there are a lot of unexpressed thank yous out there who love the game.

Big thanks to Anet for a wonderful game!Been on GW since day 1,never got bored. Entrataining PVE and a PVP that got me like no other (except Starcraft in the days maybe).

Still stuck around the 200ish position in ladder but in any case STILL hoping to get one day one of those fancy invites to playoffs

PS:CE ftw

TY for this great game series.

And for people keep complaining about the farm nerf, just remember how fun is to try new builds, make small adjustments try and fail, adjust,... try again
A lot more fun then have a build that always work and work forever. It seems a little boring, at least for me.

Me, I just play and adjust. I'm not Rich, I'm not Rank 8, I'm not wearing FoW Armor. I'm just a decent player with a lot of good friends in my Guild that I enjoy hanging out with. Nightfall is awesome. It has brought a lot of my guildies back to the game. It's a GAME folks. Enjoy it for what it is and don't dwell on what it isn't.
Ha ha! True dat! I remember the point system. Acctually kinda liked it. But I certainly see the use for the current system. I'm pretty much in the same boat you are and enjoying every wave!

I truly enjoy Nightfall. It's smaller and faster than Prophecies, true, but that means I can play for 4 or 5 hours and get 6-8 fairly big quests done and maybe a mission too. Very nice.
It has made me realize that I want to go back and go through Proph from scratch though. I'll probably do that with a new War/Mes that I'll have to buy a slot for. Need access to my 20's to keep me in cash and drops.

I remember the points to change builds. I've never ascended or even met Glint. I dropped Factions fairly early out of frustration (can't explore without doing the missions... grr *shrug*), but Nightfall seems just about right for me with the Heroes and henchies together.

I used to be big into RPG's, especially back in the early days when the games were transitioning from text to graphics. As I got older I didn't have much time to play games, except the occasional evening with my xbox.

A month ago, I was fiending for a good RPG and was looking around the stores trying to find one that wasn't a MMORPG because I didn't want to pay some stupid fee for a game that I would be "occasionally" playing. I couldn't find ONE that looked interesting. I came across Guild Wars and Factions & decided on GWP because it looked more RPG oriented.

I was hooked.

Leading up to the Halloween event I picked up both Nightfall & Factions (was only going to get NF but with the discount I splurged), cuz I wanted the hats from Kamadan :P. Worth every penny.

2 weeks ago, I got my wife playing as well, and we picked up a GWP account for her as well.

We're having a blast! Keep up the good work.
